In 2020, RockDove donated slippers to healthcare workers and first responders in the US and UK who were fighting the pandemic on the frontlines. We wanted to provide them with the best comfort for their tired feet.

Our Story:

RockDove was initially a beachside workshop in Santa Monica, California. We served as the local shoe cobbler for avid adventurers who needed their footwear repaired. Over time, they requested quality indoor shoes to comfort their trail-weary feet. So, we handmade five pairs of slippers for our longtime customers as a Christmas gift. We named them RockDove, after the bird often seen on the Santa Monica Pier.

The Experiment:

At the time, there was a lack of attention given to slippers by shoe brands in southern California. However, we knew how to make comfortable and durable footwear. We incorporated mattress memory foam, gel insoles, anti-shock cushioning, and more to create slippers that would provide ultimate comfort. When we shared our experiment with our customers, we received 350 mail orders within two months.

Our legacy of creating footwear for exhausted and adventure-worn feet continues to this day. Whether it's hiking, working, teaching, or any other daily activity, we make slippers that offer comfort and support. The Sweet Spot Comfort Level:

We were pioneers in using high-density memory foam in slippers. We worked with sleep experts to develop a multilayered foam construction that offers incredible comfort without feeling like quicksand. Our slipper's foam construction includes memory foam, support foam, and an anti-shock EVA layer.
